Review TAG Heuer Carrera Green Special Edition

As early as 2020, TAG Heuer launched one of the most attractive watches in recent years, the Carrera 160 Years Silver Edition. The earliest version of this legendary chronograph is a tribute to the perfect combination of modern elements and technical foundations, and has an undeniable retro charm. This retro-shaped chronograph will launch a new limited edition this year. This watch is limited to 500 pieces. This time it will be equipped with a colorful dial, original dark blue-green and strong shimmer. Therefore, let us take a closer look at this new TAG Heuer Carrera Green Special Edition. The new TAG Heuer Carrera Green Special Edition watch is built around a clean and relatively compact 39 mm diameter case. Its design is also as close to the original concept as possible, with a completely polished steel surface, a thin flat bezel with a frame-shaped sapphire crystal, a straight strap and the iconic faceted lugs of the series. However, due to the use of modern power, it is relatively thick with a height of about 15 mm. The right side is equipped with a traditional pump pusher and unprotected crown – all of which bring a refined, sporty and stylish look, which is already the hallmark of the original Carreras.

The dial is protected by a retro-style "glass box" domed sapphire crystal. The dial adopts a triple composite structure with three snail subdials: minute counter at 3 o'clock, hour counter at 9 o'clock and 6 o'clock position Second hand. The hour and minute hands are engraved with small faces and coated with Super-LumiNova for best readability. Super-LumiNova points are used for hour markers. Under the sapphire caseback is the brand's classic in-house TAG Heuer 02 movement. It uses a modern integrated architecture, with column wheels and vertical clutches. This movement powers most of the brand's high-end chronographs, is sturdy and durable, and can provide an 80-hour power reserve. On the bottom cover, it shows the black pendulum and the inscription and the turquoise touch on the cylindrical wheel.
